Ingredients:
For the batter:
2 Apples, peeled and diced
2 cups Flour
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
1/4 tsp Salt
1 1/4 cups Milk
1 Egg
2 tbsp Butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
For the topping:
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
4 tbsp Butter, melted
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
In a measuring cup, whisk together the milk, egg, butter and vanilla extract. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Add the apples and incorporate.
Spoon the batter into greased donut pans and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Dip each donut into the melted butter quickly, then directly into the sugar/cinnamon mixture.
