Project Description

Ingredients:

2 cups Flour

2 tsp Baking Powder

1/4 tsp Baking Soda

1 tsp Sugar

1 tsp Salt

10 tbsp cold Butter, cubed

3/4 cup Buttermilk, plus more for brushing

3 tbsp Butter, melted

1 tbsp Honey

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt. Whisk to combine. Add the cubed butter and work with your hands until the butter is the size of small peas. Add the buttermilk and stir to form a dough.

Roll out onto a floured surface and pat into a rectangle. Fold the dough in half and pat into a 1/2 in rectangle again. Fold in thirds, like folding a letter, and pat into a final rectangle of the same thickness.

Using a glass, or biscuit cutter, cut out as many biscuits as you can. Reform the dough into a rectangle to cut out more once you run out of space. Place the biscuits onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush the tops with buttermilk.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden on top. In a small bowl, melt the remaining 3 tbsp of butter and honey and combine. Brush that on the biscuits when they come out of the oven. Enjoy!
