Ingredients:
2/3 cup softened Butter
1 2/3 cup Sugar
3 Eggs
2 cups Flour
2/3 cups Cocoa
1 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
1 1/3 cups Milk
For the frosting:
1/2 cup softened Butter
3 cups Powdered Sugar
1/3 cup Cocoa
1/4 cup Milk
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a stand mixer cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, one at a time. In a small bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Alternate adding the flour mixture and the milk, in about 4 increments, ending with the milk. Pour into two greased cake pans and bake for 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
For the frosting, add the butter to the stand mixer and beat until light and fluffy. Add the powdered sugar and cocoa and mix until combined. With the mixer on medium speed, add the vanilla extract and slowly add the milk until fully incorporated.
Completely cool the cakes on a wire rack before frosting. Frost and enjoy!
