Project Description
Ingredients:
For the dough:
2 cups Whole Milk
1/2 cup Canola Oil
1/2 cup Sugar
1 packet Active Dry Yeast
4 1/2cups Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
For the filling:
1 stick Butter, melted
1 cup Sugar
4 tsp Cinnamon
For the sticky glaze:
1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
1 cup Butter
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tbsp Honey
Instructions:
In a large bowl combine the milk, canola oil, and sugar, and heat to around 110 degrees. Sprinkle the active dry yeast all over the top and let sit for 1 minute. Add 4 cups of the flour and combine. Cover the bowl with a towel and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Add the remaining 1/2 cup of flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Combine then roll out onto a floured surface. Roll into a very large rectangle, so the dough is around 1/2 inch thick. Pour the melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon over the top. Roll the dough into a long log. Cut around 16 equal slices.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and honey. Bring to a boil then pour into a large buttered rectangular baking dish. Nestle each of the rolls into the sticky glaze. Let rise for 20 minutes. Bake for around 25 minutes until lightly golden on top. Flip, then enjoy!
